My Self Reflection

The volunteering experience made me learn a lot of new stuff, the first thing that I learned is that when you volunteer people who you volunteer for become happy to know that someone cares about them to do something that helps them without pay. Volunteering helped me find and meet new friends in the collage because part of my volunteering job was to go around collage and ask people questions in the survey. I also learned how to communicate with people from different places and languages, this can be helpful if I had to communicate later with people that are different from what I usually see.
This experience made me realize how people can change from volunteering and become more helpful to our community in different ways. My volunteering experience made it easier for me to work in the future because I helped the collage in many different ways, one way was to ask people questions about the collage, or tell them about the new applications that the collage made. I also learned more about companies from the last volunteering jobs I had, it was to write the names, numbers, emails and P.O boxes of the companies that is useful to the collage in an excel sheet to make it easy for the collage to contact the companies instead of searching the business cards one by one.
Possibly if I volunteer next time what I would do differently is trying to know more about the things that will make my future job easier, and try to communicate more with my supervisor to make it easier for me to know how to communicate In my job.

project day 3

Today all we had to do is to put the name, phone numbers, PO box and emails from the business cards to an exel sheet to make things easier for the principle to search the number that he needs
i had difficulties putting the numbers in because i had to buy and install excel in my computer  so we had to work on one computer..
we put in almost 120 numbers until now in the computer and we are still trying to finish all of the business cards that the principle gave us.
7/5/2014 10:30 to 12:30

project day 2

Wednesday 23/04/2013 10:30 Am - 12:30 Pm
Today i was assigned to do a survey for the college students, teachers ,staff and anyone in the college and our goal was to reach 500 students and we were almost 420 so we still needed 80 but today the library was kind or empty there were not too many students to survey so me and yousef decided to go to the cafeteria because most of the students go there, so we went to the canteen and we saw many of our friends there.
and that was a relief because it wouldn't be easy to do a survey on someone we don't know, so we did the survey for like 10 of our friends and did 15 to other people.
yousef interviewing a student and asking him about the survey.

project day 1

My first day volunteering was easy and my task was simple it was to do a survey for the students in collage about the eBooks and pBooks
first i started asking the people in the library and it was easy then it started getting harder because i had to walk all over campus to ask students outside the library too the students were nice to me and answered all my questions then i started asking the security guards and teachers too. when i was done i interviewed a total of 21 people.

Exercise 7

LSH 2903 – Community Service – Learning /  Exercise #7
Charity and Volunteering in the UAE - Information and Activities
The UAE is famous for its hospitality and the desire to give one's time and efforts to help other people.
When I travel to other countries and talk to people about my job, the students and the UAE in general, one constant thought I hear repeated is that the UAE is a very hospitable country and its people are very generous. People in the UAE often want to do things to help others, whether it is other UAE Nationals or people from other countries.
Within the UAE we see so many examples of people volunteering and giving to charities to try and help others. People do this out of the simple goodness of their hearts and to try to help other people to have a better life than they have at the moment. An obvious example is TAKATOF which promotes the idea of volunteering within the country.
Just last semester (March 2013) we had a major charity fundraising week when students, staff and teachers of ADMC raised 25,000 Dh to donate to a school in a poor village Cambodia.
The UAE is also very strongly represented in the international field of assisting people from other countries. It may be through the Red Crescent that people donate money, time or skills to try and help others. So much of the time when we hear about various international problems, the UAE is one of the first to step forward and provide assistance.
